Toe Fungus
Fungal infection in the toenails, also called Onychomycosis, is a quite common nail condition, affecting 20% of the general population and 75% of the elderly population. Treatment and cure have proven to be a challenge. Oral prescription drugs are somewhat promising; however, they are invasive and have harmful side effects. Recently, Laser Therapy has been introduced as a treatment for onychomycosis.
At-home treatment
Hydrogen peroxide can kill fungus that grows on toenails. You can directly wipe hydrogen peroxide on your infected toes or toenails with a clean cloth or cotton swab. Hydrogen peroxide can also be used in a foot soak.
In-Clinic Treatments
Laser therapy creates a reactive oxygen species specifically called singlet oxygen. Secondly, laser therapy creates a thermal event to heat up, desiccate, and destroy the fungus in, around, and above below and behind your toenail culminating in the clean growth and healthy restoration of the affected toenail(s).
